Train through winter for these 2 half ironman distance races…


There is no reason to loose motivation over autumn and winter, as in September there are two great ultra-distance triathlons to train for. The first one is our international tour to Croatia, to do the Ironman 70.3 Pula half ironman on the 18th September (Pula Info) . If you are not up for the travelling then wait a week and do the MiWay Cape Ultra Triathlon (  on the 25th September. Both races are 1.9km swim, 90km bike and 21.1km run. Embark will be offering group training for both these races, and further more if you don’t want the group training you can follow the program with the help of a coach on your own!


There is a level of fitness required for this program, so if you are swimming 600m non stop, biking 40kms and have a road bike,  and are running 5-8kms, then you will be ready for the progression of the program. The program is presented using Training Peaks, which means your coach has the ability to track you on a daily basis. Your workouts upload automatically if you are using multisport versions of Suunto, Garmin, Polar etc.  You can also manually input the sessions if you don’t have the technology J .


There are currently groups training for the Ironman 70.3 Durban race in June, so the groups are all ready to welcome the athletes. We have groups in Atlantic Seaboard, S Suburbs, N Suburbs, Blouberg and Jozi North. Please get in contact with us for more, or register on the tab above.
