Second last big session for Half Ironman Embarkers!

Today we completed our second last big brick session. Its was tough and with over 30 degrees by 10am, we certainly were getting perfect race conditions! We did a 70km ride first, from Camps Bay to Simons Town and back, then locked up our bikes and ran to the lighthouse in Mouille Point and back (15kms). It was a tough session and the course we did today mimics the 70.3 Half Ironman course quite closely. The weather was very hot too, so we are learning the importance to be hydrated not just on the day, but to turn up for the training well hydrated! We also practice nutrition while riding, as on race day we need to know what our bodies will act like with certain foods, and lets rather have a bad training session than a bad unprepared race!
