Mock Tri done…

Today we completed our mock tri from the V&A Waterfront. The groups joined up for the first time season, as Dave bought his Northern Suburbs group through to town side to join in on the training. We started off with the orientation at the canals, and then we jumped in and swam up the canal to familiarise ourselves with the safety aspects of group swimming. It was a great visual to see all the triathletes in their bright orange swim caps. We did about 200 meters up the canal and turned at the bridge and headed back to the start to transition to the bike leg. Unfortunately for the Embark ‘fines kitty’ everyone signed in and out and so everyone was accounted for, but the kitty stayed dry. Once out of their wetsuits, the triathletes headed out the waterfront towards Chapman’s Peak and did an hour out and an hour back. Then a quick T2 and straight back onto the road for a 15min out and 15min back run. Dave and I were very impressed with the level of the triathletes at this stage. Progress is happening fast! We have our first triathlon in just under 4 weeks, and we feel we will be ready! Next week is our 3rd week in block 2, and its our BIGGEST WEEK! So buckle down and train hard next week and get motivated by the thought of the rest week the following week.
