Beginner triathletes practise transition training…

Today we practiced our triathlon transition training at the Sea Point pavilion pools. We are preparing for the Simon’s Town Triathlon on the 27th of May. So after a demonstration from the coach, STeve Attwell, all the Embark beginners set up their own transition area and put their wetsuits on. The idea is always to try to keep the group together so we swim for time instead of distance. We did 10mins of swimming, then transition 1 followed by 30mins of riding, T2 and then 30mins running. Transition is known as the forth discipline in triathlon and the better prepared you are for this, the better you will race! On Friday we are going for an open water swim with the ATC Multisport guys in the canals at the Waterfront, followed by a ride on the cycle paths to Blouberg.
