Sea swimming practice at Clifton 4th

Lap 1, OMG.... how cold!!
Lap 1, OMG…. how cold!!

Not even 8am and 10 degrees sea temperature deterred the Embarkers from practising their sea swim starts and exits. With the help of Anton Louw and the Clifton Lifesavers, we set up a course with buoys, so that we could do several laps of entries/150m swim/exits/beach run and repeats. Exactly what we need to learn confidence for, for race day. The first lap was cold, so cold you could hardly put your face in, but once lap one was done, we acclimatised and the rest of the laps were such fun! We were joined by a few seals in fact! Thanks goodness we were warned about them, because that could be quite a shock seeing that swimming past!
