Training Block 2: Week 5 begins

This evening we did our run session, it was our first hill session, and we went up Kloof Road towards Kloof Nek. All the athletes had to run 20 mins up, and then turn around and get back in 15mins. We started at Le Med where we did up warm up and cool down with ATC Running. Some of the Embark athletes that have been doing track leading up to the 70.3 opted to run the track session. The athletes will all be starting track in the 3rd block, our base transition phase.

The rest and recovery week is over, and now we begin with the second phase of training. We call this Block 2. We are still in our base preparation phase of training for 4 more weeks. All the athletes are working through their training calenders, and this is an example of what the progression should like:
